Wedding update

A while back, I posted about two weddings I had coming up. For the first, which was a mid-November wedding, I ended up trying Rent the Runway and wore this dress by Trina Turk.

My overall experience with Rent the Runway was just okay. At the last minute, my backup dress was cancelled, and with one day's notice, of course none of my 2nd, 3rd, 4th (and so on) picks were available for that weekend. Kind of frustrating, especially since I was looking forward to having two dresses to try for the event (after gaining some weight, I had no idea what to expect from designer dresses!) My "stylist" sent me another dress at supposedly no charge, but I had to fight it out to get them to actually not charge me for the 2nd dress. Not sure that I'll end up using them again...

I have and love the same dress in the black, white and red polka dot print. I was happy to find this more holiday-appropriate version on eBay. Will it be too "Christmas-y" to wear it with red heels? It IS a December wedding, after all...

I really like this little dress. It's way different than anything else I have, and it is a little shorter too. With tights, however, it's a length I can manage (for a formal event, at least). I actually feel pretty sassy in this dress! I have a pair of purple tights that are a pretty exact match to the purple shade of the dress, so I think I'm going to try a monotone look here with maybe some coral or my Madewell polka dot pumps.
